Paloma Del Mar -The Bigger Table Fund

An Invitation: Turn your words into actions.

Dear Friends and Midwives,

Meet Paloma Del Mar Hernandez Quiñones , a  Bigger Table Fund recipient  and the the second Black Certified Professional Midwife in Puerto Rico! Watch her story and see the impact of your donations.

“This fund is exactly what it sounds like, a big, wide table that seeks to include and give space, support, and opportunities to all Afro-descendant, Indigenous, Hispanic, people of color, LGBTQ+ groups, and other marginalized communities to become certified professional midwives and serve their communities, thereby counteracting maternal mortality, systemic violence, and all the inequities we face as populations. I invite you to turn your words into actions, and let all the discourse we hear and engage in about justice work, anti-racist work, anti-colonial work, and JUSTICE itself translate into concrete actions by supporting this fund,” says Paloma.

Support the Bigger Table Fund today and help reduce financial barriers for aspiring midwives. This week, the first $1000 of donations will be matched by a generous donor!

The Bigger Table Fund provides scholarships for student midwives of color, Indigenous and/or LGBTQIA2S+ student midwives for the national NARM credentialing examination fees and one-time awards for state licensing fees for those who are already CPMs.

The Bigger Table Fund is a small but impactful way to address systemic inequities in our CPM workforce.  Our goal is to raise $12,000 which will fund four full cycles of Bigger Table Recipients.

Your support can make a profound difference. Please consider making a one-time or recurring donation to this vital cause. Even small, recurring donations can quickly add up and are deeply appreciated.

Join us in building a bigger, more inclusive table.

With Love,

The NACPM Leadership Team
