We will explore resources to help you build the case for increasing access to midwifery care, licensing and reimbursement, including NACPM Fact Sheets and the latest Position Statements from other organizations.

We will introduce you to the excellent guide published by the International Confederation of Midwives which addresses the various phases of advocacy work, such as building consensus, cultivating allies, creating marketing plans, staging demonstrations, and evaluating your progress. And we will share examples of how advocates in several states are using the “Principles for Model U.S. Midwifery Legislation and Regulation” endorsed by the US MERA member organizations.
