NACPM is honored, excited and grateful to have been accepted as a member organization of the International Confederation of Midwives in April 2014, and to join the effort to strengthen midwifery for the sake of women around the globe. Over the past three years, NACPM has joined forces with the other U.S. midwifery professional associations and agencies to examine and strengthen U.S. midwifery in light of the ICM Vision and Global Standards. We look forward to learning from new relationships with the international community of midwives as well as to contributing whatever we can from U.S. Certified Professional Midwifery to developing models to meet the needs of all women. NACPM joined the ICM Council and attended the 30th ICM Triennial Congress in Prague in June 2014, as well as the Americas Region Conference in Suriname in 2015.
